Deck photos
So the sun was setting as we left port. Plus there was a fun sign on the top deck that made me giggle.
Ferry to Croatia
This ferry was a tiny cruise ship, it had a bar/disco, casino, and 2 restaurants to choose from. The photo of the backpack in a seat is where I spent most of my time.

Caves continued
The caves were built by the Etruscans for olive oil production, quarries, and my favorite, private pigeon houses. The pigeon houses had nooks for the pigeons to nest, they could fly out to find food, then return and would be used as a food source. Pigeon is still served in the restaurants here.
Caverns
Orvieto has over 1,000 man made caves most of which are private property used as wine cellars, but I got to your 2 public caves.
St. Patrick's Well
This well us reached via a spiral staircase of 248 steps. I got major vertigo looking over the edge of the interior windows.
Duomo di San Brizio
This cathedral was built in 1290 and is the symbol of Orvieto. It was interesting since the facade was ornate and traditional, but the sides were not.
Cava Well
This well was built at the request of a pope and they found it previously was a well in Etruscan time as well. They found neat pottery fragments when excavating.
Orvieto
So this town of 5,000 inhabitants (plus tourists) sits on top of a plateau overlooking the Italian countryside.
