Easter eve finale

As it turned midnight the Bishop continued singing in Greek as the bells of the Cathedral rang out in some sort of musical sequence and loud cannon booms sounded.

After the service ends it is customary for Greeks to go out to dinner to break their fasting and then the lit candles are taken home to light all the candles in the house.

The candle fire is referred to as 'holy fire' as the flame is brought over from Jerusalem for the Easter Eve services across Greece.
