iPod music
I somehow managed to delete all my music before heading over here so I broke down and downloaded an album to listen to...I chose Mamma Mia, it seemed appropriate.
Trattoria La Grotta
I had dinner at a quaint restaurant called Trattoria La Grotta and they had the best pasta!! It was made with home made noodles and everything!!
Goodbye Venice, Hello Orvieto
So I took the train from Venice to a small town in Umbria called Orvieto. It is super cute! To get there you take a funicular up the mountainside.
Hot chocolate
I got this as dessert as it is said to be famous here. It tasted like they just melted a chocolate bar and there were actual chocolate chunks in it...yum!
Hello sunset
So I went a bit crazy taking photos of this gorgeous sunset, but the orange rays just reflected off the water of the canal so beautifully!!
Prisons
Also at the Palazzo Ducale were the prisons. They were reached by walking across the 'bridge of sighs', named such as it was the last window you saw out before reaching the cells. The dirty looking photo is of the view from the bridge.
Palazzo Ducale
Off of San Marcos square there is the Palazzo Ducale which used to house the Doges as well as their offices. Sadly no photos were allowed inside, so here is the courtyard along with a photo of the ceilings in the golden stairwell.
Around Venice
So I am a tid bit obsessed with taking photos here. Even with the crowds I just can't help but fall in love with this place!!

Gustav Klimt
There was a special Gustav Klimt exhibit on display at the Museo Correr and I just couldn't help myself!
Crowds
Goodness me! Today was much more crowded then yesterday...I don't know how the locals do it. You've got narrow walkways filled with slow walkers, map checkers, and picture takers and they just stop where they please...at least move to the side.
Return to Piazza San Marco
Talk about packed! Here was the square at 1 pm today...no wonder they say it is the busiest square in Italy!!
Piazza San Marco
It is said to be the busiest square in all of Italy, and with cruise ships like this one dropping in for the day I believe it!
